The new Ranger now offers a range of new Duratorq Stage V diesel engines that combine extra power and torque with outstanding fuel economy.
For example, the150PS/110kW 2.2-litre 4 cylinder engine delivers up to 375 Nm of torque and a frugal fuel economy figure of 35.3mpg (combined cycle). While the 200PS 3.2 litre TDCi (diesel) offers up to 470Nm of torque.
The higher-powered engines use a Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT), which controls the amount of power and torque produced. It improves starting and gives you remarkable torque at low speeds, even without touching the accelerator - minimising fuel consumption and emissions.
In fact, all the new engines meet the stringent European Stage V emissions standards. The Ranger’s new engines are more efficient, as well as more powerful. And the vehicle’s driving dynamics mean it’s agile and surefooted, whatever the surface. All in all, the vehicle offers the complete performance package.

Ranger’s new rack-and-pinion system gives you more accurate and precise steering. This is designed to improve manoeuvrability at low speeds, such as when you’re parking or negotiating a narrow off-road track. It takes only 3.5 turns of the steering wheel from lock to lock.
